SBC is excited to partner with EnerQuality Corp in the delivery of a 2-part virtual workshop focusing on high performance envelope design and energy modelling for multi-residential buildings. This 2-part workshop is intended to support and build awareness of the ENERGYSTAR for Multi-family program that EnerQuality is delivering on behalf of Natural Resources Canada.
This workshop will examine how to achieve better than code performance. Attendees will learn about energy simulation modelling as a tool for optimizing assembly and equipment design choices for both performance and costs including;
- Simulation software systems and their pros and cons
- Building energy performance codes
- Setting goals and expectations
- Building as a system
- The Integrated Design Process
- Common energy conservation measures (ECM)
Workshop attendees will learn from experts in the fields of building science and energy modelling. The workshops will focus on high performance envelope design characteristics, resiliency, durability and cost. Specific energy saving measures will be described and will be used to inform the energy modelling presentation. The workshops will show attendees how to incorporate detailed energy modelling into an assessment of the energy performance of a new MURB building, including how envelope measures can impact energy performance.
When?
