David is the founder of Moses Structural Engineers and has been involved in hundreds of projects in Canada and the United States. He brings with him over 20 years of expertise, and is a recognized leader in the field through teaching, research, publications, awards and speaking events. Prior to opening MSE’s doors in 2010, David worked for Equilibrium Consulting Ltd. in Vancouver and then in Toronto.
He was the specialty timber project engineer for the Art Gallery of Ontario renovation that was completed in 2008. This Toronto landmark is the most sophisticated wood structure in North America and sets a precedent for the city. David specializes in natural building materials and received the 2011 Forest Products Society’s “2011 Wood Engineering Award.” He also received the Wood WORKS! Ontario “Engineer Wood Advocate Award” in both 2009 and 2013 for his work in the design and promotion of Ontario’s wood products. David sits on CSA code committees in the Forest Products Sector, including the steering committee and technical committees “Solid and Engineered Wood Products” and “Wood Based Panel Products,” and is vice-chair of SPE900 “Best Practices for Solar Photovoltaic Rooftop Installations.”
