Integrated Design Workshops

Sustainable Buildings Canada delivers Integrated Design Workshops to builders and developers in support of Conservation and Demand Management programs across the Province.

Described as market transformation programs, the Design Workshop brings together subject matter experts from Industry and Academia, in all areas of energy efficiency and sustainable development, in a full day collaborative ideas exchange aimed at improving energy efficiency and environmental performance over code for the Proponent builder or developer.  Programs are delivered in both Part 9 residential construction as well as Part 3 ICI and mid and hi-rise residential.As the programs are expanding and the demand for these workshops is increasing, Sustainable Buildings Canada is expanding its roster of qualified subject matter experts in the following areas.

  • Storm Water Management
  • Complete Communities
  • Carbon Accounting
  • Construction Cost
  • Sustainable Building and Development Sales and Marketing
  • Advanced Framing (part 9)
  • Clean Energy Systems (ASHP and GSHP)
  • Onsite generation and co-generation
  • District Heating and Cooling.

Applicants must have current Industry experience in their field and appropriate professional designations.  They should be comfortable working in interdisciplinary design, and be product- or manufacturer-agnostic.  The Consultant will be required to review visioning session notes and drawings in advance of the Design Workshop, and participate during the full-day workshop through presentation, and collaborative dialogue.

Consultants are selected to participate in individual Design Workshops based on the Proponent’s areas of interest and issues identified in a pre-workshop visioning session and are contracted on an as-needed, when-needed basis.
